Costa Blanca is the 'white coast' in the province of Alicante and owes its name to the white light. The coast runs from Dénia (north) to Pilar de la Horadada (south). The coast is 160 km long, flat and sandy with numerous beaches. It is blessed with a wonderful climate all year round with virtually no rainfall. North of Dénia there are long white sandy beaches, near Altea there are beautiful beaches interrupted by cliffs and bays. From Alicante to Torrevieja it is a dry, empty landscape with some wooded dunes. Here you will also find the salt pans of Spain, of which Torrevieja is the largest supplier. With Alicante airport all coastal towns can be easily reached in a short time.
